Car Service From the Hamptons to Manhattan
The trip between the East End and Manhattan is about two to two and a half hours from Southampton outside of traffic, closer to three from Montauk, and in a new, meticulously maintained luxury SUV it is the quietest part of the day. You are collected at the door in Sag Harbor or on East 72nd Street, the luggage goes in the back, and the next time you stand up you are at the other door.

2. Approve the Written Price
You receive one written price for the trip, with the pickup time set for the traffic of that day and hour. Approve it or forward it. The confirmation carries the pickup time and the vehicle; the chauffeur's name and number follow about 6 to 8 hours before pickup.
3. Ride Door to Door
The chauffeur texts when the car is outside, loads the luggage and drives the full route. In Manhattan the car pulls to the building entrance; on the East End it comes up the drive. One trip, one chauffeur.

Hamptons to Manhattan Car Service in the Hamptons, in Detail
The route depends on the hour and the day. Friday afternoon eastbound and Sunday evening westbound are the heavy hours, and summer weekends are heavier still; a Monday morning or a late Sunday night moves differently. The service runs all year. We set the pickup time from the traffic expected at that hour and tell you in the written confirmation when the car will be at the door and roughly when you will arrive. The chauffeur chooses between the Expressway, Sunrise Highway and the Northern State as conditions change.
Reservations are made by email or phone, often by an assistant, and confirmed in writing with the pickup time and the vehicle; the chauffeur's name and number follow about 6 to 8 hours before pickup. The same reservation can include an airport on the way, a stop on the North Shore or a return trip later in the week. Spanish is spoken.

Hamptons to Manhattan Car Service Questions
How long is the drive from the Hamptons to Manhattan?
Outside of traffic, about two to two and a half hours from Southampton or Bridgehampton, two and a half to three from East Hampton or Amagansett, and about three from Montauk. On a Friday afternoon in July or a Sunday evening, add time. The written confirmation gives you an expected arrival for the hour you have chosen, and the chauffeur updates you by text if conditions change.
Which route do you take, and can I ask for a different one?
The chauffeur chooses between the Long Island Expressway, Sunrise Highway and the Northern State Parkway based on live conditions at the time, and the Midtown Tunnel, the Queensboro Bridge or the Triborough depending on where in Manhattan you are headed. If you have a preference, put it on the reservation and the chauffeur follows it unless a closure makes it impractical, in which case you are told.
Can we stop on the way, for example at JFK or at an office?
Yes. A stop at JFK or LaGuardia to collect or drop a passenger, an office in Nassau or Suffolk, or a second pickup in another Hamptons village can be added to the same trip. Tell us when you request the quote so the pickup time allows for it, and the stop appears on the written confirmation.
Do you also drive from Manhattan out to the Hamptons late at night?
Yes. Service runs twenty-four hours a day in both directions. A pickup in Manhattan at 10:00 p.m. after a dinner, with arrival at the house in East Hampton after midnight, is an ordinary reservation. Book ahead so the chauffeur is assigned and the chauffeur's name and number are in your hands before you leave the table.
How does this compare with the train or the Jitney?
It is a different thing. The car leaves when you choose from the address you choose and arrives at the other door, with the luggage handled and no change at Jamaica or wait at a stop. You can work, sleep or take a call for the whole trip. For a group of two to six traveling together, it is one reservation for everyone. For larger groups we arrange a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a luxury shuttle bus or a coach.
