Laurel Car Service to the Airports and the City
Laurel is a small hamlet at the western edge of the Town of Southold, with a narrow strip on the Riverhead side of the town line. It was once called the Middle Ground, between Riverhead and Southold. Route 25 (Main Road) runs through it, Route 48 passes to the north, and Laurel Lake Preserve sits just off Main Road. Jamesport is a few minutes west and Mattituck a few minutes east.
Laurel on Main Road and Route 48
Route 25 (Main Road) is Laurel’s street, lined with farms and vineyards. Route 48 runs parallel to the north and is often the steadier choice on busy weekends. Both lead west to Riverhead and the Long Island Expressway.
Pickup Spots in Laurel
Houses along Main Road and around Laurel Lake, the vineyards between Jamesport and Mattituck, and the Mattituck LIRR station about five minutes east. Riverhead station is about 10 minutes west.
Fall Weekends
Harvest season brings farm-stand and winery traffic to Main Road from September into November, heaviest on Saturday afternoons. We set pickup times with margin and use Route 48 when Main Road is slow.

How long is Laurel to JFK?
About an hour and a half to two hours outside of traffic, west on Route 25 or Route 48 to Riverhead, then the Long Island Expressway and the Van Wyck. For a 7 a.m. flight we collect around 4 a.m. On a summer or fall Sunday afternoon we allow an extra hour.
Is Laurel in the Town of Southold or Riverhead?
Both. The hamlet lies mostly in the Town of Southold, with a small part on the Riverhead side of the town line. For a car service it makes no difference: we collect at the address, wherever the line falls, and the written confirmation shows the pickup point exactly as you give it.
Can we book a chauffeur by the hour for a winery day from Laurel?
Yes. The chauffeur collects you in Laurel, drives east along Main Road from one tasting room to the next, waits at each, and brings everyone home. Hourly as-directed service has a four-hour minimum for sedans and SUVs and six hours for Sprinters, shuttle buses and coaches.
Which train station is closest to Laurel?
