Local notes
East Hampton Car Service to the Airports and the City
East Hampton is where Montauk Highway becomes Main Street, runs past the pond and the windmill, and turns up Newtown Lane toward the train station. Main Beach sits at the foot of Ocean Avenue; Georgica Pond and the lanes behind it hold the quietest houses in the village; Wainscott, Springs and Amagansett are the hamlets around it in the Town of East Hampton. The Town of East Hampton Airport (HTO) lies just west of the village in Wainscott, which makes this the one Hamptons village where a private flight is a ten-minute drive from dinner.
Route 27 Through the Village
Montauk Highway narrows to Woods Lane, Main Street and Pantigo Road through East Hampton. In July and August the stretch between Wainscott and the village can take longer than the twenty miles before it. Our chauffeurs use Route 114 and the back roads when it makes sense.
Where We Meet You
The East Hampton LIRR station on Railroad Avenue, the Hampton Jitney stop on Main Street, Main Beach on Ocean Avenue, Guild Hall, or the FBO at HTO on Daniels Hole Road. For a house we come to the door; for a restaurant we wait where the hostess can see the car.
HTO Has Limits
The airport is town-owned with a 4,255-foot main runway, so jets up to midsize use it and curfews and seasonal restrictions change. If your aircraft is routed to FOK or ISP instead, the drive is 45 to 55 minutes or about an hour and a half, and we adjust the pickup time.
Summer Weekends
Friday afternoon is eastbound, Sunday afternoon westbound, and the Sunday evening wave to JFK and LGA is the one that catches people out. We recommend leaving East Hampton earlier than the base time for any Sunday departure between 4 and 9 p.m.

Questions
East Hampton Car Service Questions
How long is the drive from East Hampton to JFK?
About two and a half to three hours outside of traffic, roughly 20 to 30 minutes more than from Southampton. The route is Montauk Highway to County Road 39, Sunrise Highway, then the Long Island Expressway or Southern State to the Van Wyck. On a summer Sunday afternoon we plan for four hours.
Can you meet a private flight at East Hampton Airport?
Yes. HTO is in Wainscott, about 10 to 15 minutes from the village. We track the tail number, wait at the FBO and have the car at the aircraft side where the operator allows it. If the flight is diverted to FOK in Westhampton or ISP in Islip, we re-route and confirm the new pickup time with you.
Do you pick up at the East Hampton train station?
Yes. The station is on Railroad Avenue off Newtown Lane, on the LIRR Montauk Branch. We meet the train at the curb, track delays, and load the luggage. Cannonball and summer weekend trains arrive full, so we agree a meeting spot in advance when it is busy.
Can we book a chauffeur for the evening in East Hampton?
Yes. A night on the town is booked by the hour: dinner on Main Street or in Amagansett, a show at Guild Hall, a stop in Sag Harbor, and home. The chauffeur stays with the car, so there is no waiting for a ride at midnight and no one needs to drive.
How far is East Hampton from Manhattan?
About two and three quarters to three and a quarter hours outside of traffic, into Midtown through the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. The Upper East Side via the Triborough and FDR is similar; Tribeca and downtown add 15 to 30 minutes. We give a single written price for the door-to-door ride.
