Orient Car Service to the Airports and the City
Orient is a hamlet in the Town of Southold at the eastern tip of the North Fork. Main Road (Route 25) ends at the Orient Point ferry landing, where the Cross Sound Ferry runs to New London, Connecticut. Along the way are Village Lane and Orient Beach State Park, with its long sand spit and the Orient Long Beach Bar Light.
The End of Route 25
Main Road is the only road in and out of Orient. Every trip west passes East Marion and Greenport before picking up Route 48 toward Riverhead and the Long Island Expressway.
The Cross Sound Ferry
Car and passenger ferries run from Orient Point to New London, Connecticut. We meet arriving sailings at the landing and drop departing passengers at the terminal with the bags.
Pickup Spots in Orient
Houses on Village Lane and along the water, Orient Beach State Park off Route 25, the ferry landing, and the Greenport LIRR station about 15 to 20 minutes west.
Summer Weekends

How long is Orient to JFK?
About two to two and a half hours outside of traffic: west on Route 25 to Greenport, Route 48 to Riverhead, then the Long Island Expressway and the Van Wyck. LaGuardia is similar. Orient is the far end of the fork, so for an early flight the pickup is in the small hours, and on summer Sunday afternoons we add time.
Can you meet us off the Cross Sound Ferry?
Yes. Send us the sailing from New London and the chauffeur meets you at the Orient Point landing, takes the bags and drives you to the house in Orient, a hotel in Greenport, or on to an airport or Manhattan. If you are driving off the ferry in your own car, we can meet other members of the party instead.
Which train station is closest to Orient?
Greenport, the last stop on the Long Island Rail Road's Main Line, about 15 to 20 minutes west. Send us the train you are on and the chauffeur meets you there, takes the bags and drives you out to Orient. The Southold station is a few minutes farther west if that train suits you better.
How far is Orient from a private aviation airport?
Gabreski Airport (FOK), north of Westhampton Beach, is about an hour to an hour and a quarter outside of traffic. Long Island MacArthur (ISP) in Islip is about an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half. Tell us the landing time and the FBO, and the chauffeur is waiting there with the car.
Can we book a car for guests staying in Orient?
