The pickup
FRG Car Service: How the Pickup Works
Republic has more than one FBO, so the booking needs the name of yours: Atlantic Aviation and Modern Aviation both operate on the field, and new facilities have been under construction. Give us the FBO, the tail number or the operator, and the estimated time, and the chauffeur is in the right lobby before the aircraft lands. Where the FBO permits and your operator has arranged it, the SUV is escorted planeside and the luggage goes straight into the trunk. Otherwise the car is at the lobby door.

Times are outside of traffic. Summer Fridays eastbound and Sundays westbound run longer; the pickup time in your confirmation allows for it.

2. Meet Your Chauffeur
Your chauffeur waits in the FBO lobby, or planeside where the operator permits, and loads the luggage from the aircraft.
3. Arrive
One chauffeur for the whole ride, a quiet cabin, and the car brought to the door at the other end.

Before You Fly Through FRG
Name the FBO
There is more than one Private FBO at Republic and they are on different sides of the field. The name in the booking puts the chauffeur in the right lobby.
A City Alternative to Teterboro
Operators sometimes offer Republic when Teterboro is slot-constrained. The drive to Midtown is comparable, and you stay on the New York side of the river.
Route 110 at Rush Hour
The last stretch along Route 110 is a commercial corridor. Weekday pickups between 4 and 6:30 p.m. deserve an extra fifteen minutes.
Split the Family
Republic is close enough to Nassau that a chauffeur can collect one party in Garden City and another at the FBO within the same hour.

Republic Airport sits in East Farmingdale, in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County, just inside the Nassau line. Owned by the State of New York and run by AvPORTS, it is Long Island's busiest general aviation airport and the one private flyers choose when they want to be close to the city without landing in it. The field has no scheduled airline service; it is jets, turboprops, charter and flight schools, with Private FBO terminals rather than a passenger concourse.
For a Hamptons traveler, FRG is a reasonable middle point: about an hour to an hour and a quarter to Southampton outside of traffic, and roughly the same to Midtown Manhattan. We meet you in the FBO lobby in a suit, bring a new, meticulously maintained luxury SUV planeside where the FBO permits, and carry the luggage. For a departure we collect you at the door, drive to the FBO you name and hand the bags to the line crew.
Republic is also the airport for Nassau and western Suffolk residents flying privately: Garden City, Manhasset, Huntington and Dix Hills are each within thirty minutes. The transfer is priced in writing before it is confirmed, and the service is available 24 hours.
For departures, the chauffeur collects you and the luggage at the house and drives to the FBO. From the Hamptons the route is Sunrise Highway or the Expressway to Route 110, about an hour from Southampton outside of traffic; from Manhattan, the Expressway or the Northern State, about an hour as well. We confirm the pickup time in writing against your requested arrival at the FBO and move it if the slot moves. Nassau and western Suffolk pickups are twenty to thirty minutes away.

How early should I leave the Hamptons for a private departure from Republic?
Take your flight department's requested arrival time at the FBO and add the drive: about an hour to an hour and a quarter from Southampton outside of traffic, an hour and a half to an hour and three quarters from East Hampton. For a 10 a.m. wheels-up, a Southampton pickup around 8:30 a.m. is comfortable. We confirm it in writing.
Can international private flights arrive at Republic?
Only if US Customs is arranged by your operator for that arrival; Republic is not a routine port of entry. Many international private flights clear at a larger airport and continue to Republic as a domestic leg. Tell us the final leg and the FBO and we meet you there, allowing for the inspection if it happens on the field.
Where will the chauffeur meet us at FRG?
In the lobby of the FBO you name, in a suit, before the aircraft lands. Where the FBO permits and the operator has requested it, the car is escorted planeside and the luggage goes directly into the trunk. If you do not know your FBO, your operator does; we are happy to confirm it with them.
Is there room for luggage from a full cabin?
A luxury SUV takes four with a large case and a carry-on each in comfort. A full cabin of six or seven with the same luggage is a two-car booking, and we will say so in the written quote. For larger groups we arrange a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a shuttle or a coach. Golf bags, cases of wine and oversized items should be mentioned when you book so the load is planned.
What if our wheels-up time changes?
Text or call and the pickup moves. For arrivals we follow the aircraft, so weather holds and early landings are handled without a word from you. For departures the chauffeur simply arrives at the new time. Private schedules move, and the booking is built to move with them.
