Local notes
Calverton Car Service to the Airports and the City
Calverton is a hamlet in the Town of Riverhead, at the western gateway to the North Fork. The Long Island Expressway ends here, Route 25 runs east toward Riverhead, and Route 25A comes in from the North Shore to meet it. Calverton National Cemetery and the former Grumman site, now an industrial park, both stand on land of the former Navy plant, with the Peconic River along the south.
The End of the Expressway
The Long Island Expressway’s last exits are here: exit 71 for Route 24, exit 72 for Route 25, and exit 73 onto Route 58 toward Riverhead. Most trips west start on the expressway within minutes of the house.
Pickup Spots in Calverton
Homes off Route 25 and Route 25A, the industrial park on the former Grumman site, Calverton National Cemetery, and the farms and vineyards along Sound Avenue to the north.
No Train in Calverton
Calverton has no LIRR station today. Riverhead station, about 10 minutes east, is the nearest train; we meet arrivals there and bring guests on to the house.
Weekend Traffic East
On summer and fall weekends the traffic for the farm stands and vineyards builds on Route 25 and Sound Avenue east of here. Westbound trips to the city are rarely affected until the expressway itself; we set pickup times with margin.

Chauffeured Car Service in Calverton, in Detail
East End Lux provides car service in Calverton with new, meticulously maintained luxury SUVs and chauffeurs in a suit. We collect at the house, the office park or a vineyard along Sound Avenue, and run to JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, MacArthur, Gabreski and Manhattan at any hour. Every ride is confirmed in writing with the price, so an assistant or estate manager can approve it or forward it.
Because the expressway starts here, Calverton is the shortest North Fork run to the city and the airports. It is also where a wine-country day by the hour usually begins, with Sound Avenue and Main Road heading east from the same corner.
Questions
Calverton Car Service Questions
How long is Calverton to JFK?
About an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half outside of traffic, straight west on the Long Island Expressway and down the Van Wyck. LaGuardia is similar. For a 7 a.m. flight we usually collect between 4:30 and 5 a.m. On a summer Friday or Sunday afternoon we add time and tell you when we confirm.
Can you meet a private flight at Gabreski or MacArthur for Calverton?
Yes. Gabreski (FOK) in Westhampton is about 20 to 25 minutes from Calverton, and Long Island MacArthur (ISP) in Islip is about 30 to 40 minutes. You give us the arrival time, the chauffeur waits at the FBO, the private terminal at the airport, and handles the bags.
Is there a train station in Calverton?
No. Calverton has no LIRR station today. Riverhead station, on Osborne Avenue about 10 minutes east, is the nearest. We can meet a train there and drive guests to the house, or take them from Calverton to Penn Station or Grand Central by car instead.
Can we book a chauffeur by the hour for a winery day from Calverton?
Yes. Calverton is the natural start for a day on the North Fork: east along Sound Avenue or Main Road, with the chauffeur waiting at each stop. Hourly as-directed service has a four-hour minimum for sedans and SUVs and six hours for Sprinters, buses and coaches. The price is confirmed in writing first.
Do you drive from Calverton to Manhattan?
Yes, at any hour. Midtown is about an hour and a half to two hours outside of traffic on the expressway and through the Queens-Midtown Tunnel; downtown and the Upper East Side take a little longer. The chauffeur’s name and number arrive about 6 to 8 hours before pickup.
