EWR Car Service: How the Pickup Works
Newark's three terminals sit in a row: Terminal A, rebuilt and opened in 2023, Terminal B, where most international carriers land, and Terminal C, United's. We track your flight and the chauffeur is waiting at baggage claim with a sign when you come through. For international arrivals into Terminal B we allow for passport control and customs, which can take well over an hour, and we adjust in real time rather than charging you to wait. Carry-on only? Ask for the curb and the chauffeur will text the door.

Before You Fly Through EWR
Give Yourself the Whole Morning
A noon international departure from Newark means an 8 a.m. pickup in Southampton. Earlier is calmer; the Cross Bronx is at its worst from 7 to 10 a.m.
Terminal B for Most International Flights
If you are flying a foreign carrier, you are almost certainly in B. United passengers are in C, and A hosts American, Delta, JetBlue and Air Canada among others.
Stay in the City, or Leave Early
Clients with 6 a.m. departures sometimes stay in Manhattan the evening before. We can drive the Hamptons to Manhattan leg in the evening and the short hop to Newark in the morning.
Returns: Tell Us the Carrier
An arriving widebody at Terminal B can take ninety minutes to clear. We time the chauffeur to that, not to the landing.

Newark is the long one. From the Hamptons it means crossing all of Long Island, the whole of New York City and the Hudson River, and it is the airport where a chauffeured car earns its keep most plainly. United's hub and a growing list of international routes bring East End travelers here when the schedule beats JFK. The drive is 2½ to 3 hours from Southampton outside of traffic.
A car service to Newark from East Hampton or Southampton with East End Lux is one vehicle, one chauffeur and one written price. Departures from the East End to Newark are long enough that we plan them with you. We take the flight time, the check-in window for your airline and the day of the week, and we propose a pickup time in writing. The chauffeur loads the luggage at your door, drives the Expressway and the crossings, and drops you at the departures level of your terminal. Routing across the city is the chauffeur's call on the day; the Throgs Neck and the George Washington Bridge are the usual way, with the Verrazzano and the Goethals as the fallback.

How early should I leave Southampton for an international flight from Newark?
Count three hours at the terminal for international, then add the drive of 2½ to 3 hours outside of traffic and a buffer for the city. For a 7 p.m. departure that means leaving Southampton by about 12:30 p.m. We will propose the exact time in writing when you book and adjust it if the schedule changes.
My flight lands at Newark Terminal B from Europe. How long will the chauffeur wait?
As long as it takes. We track the flight and expect passport control and customs at Terminal B to run an hour or more for a full flight. The chauffeur is at baggage claim with a sign when you come through, and the price you approved does not change because the line was long.
Where do we meet at Newark?
Inside at baggage claim for your flight, holding a sign with the name you give us. From there you walk together to the car in the terminal's parking garage, a short covered walk. For carry-on travelers who want the quickest exit, a curbside meet is available; the chauffeur texts the door and the lane as you leave the building.
Is there room for everyone's luggage on a long international trip?
A luxury SUV takes four passengers with a large case and a carry-on each without difficulty. For six or seven passengers with international luggage, two cars are the honest answer, and we will tell you so before you book rather than at the curb. For larger groups we arrange a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a shuttle or a coach. Skis, golf bags and bulky items should be mentioned in the booking so the chauffeur plans the load.
Can you have a car seat waiting at Newark for the ride home?
Yes. We provide and install child safety seats on request; tell us the child's age and weight when you book. Parents confirm the seat is properly installed before the car leaves Newark.
