Water Mill Car Service to the Airports and the City
Water Mill is the hamlet between Southampton Village and Bridgehampton in the Town of Southampton, named for the mill that still stands on the green beside Montauk Highway. The Parrish Art Museum moved here in 2012; Mecox Bay and Flying Point Beach lie to the south; the farm roads north of the highway run up toward Scuttle Hole and the vineyards. It is quieter than its neighbors and most of it is reached by a long driveway.
On the Way to Everything
Montauk Highway (Route 27) is the spine of Water Mill. Westbound traffic toward County Road 39 backs up through the hamlet on summer weekday afternoons and Sunday evenings; the back roads via Head of Pond and Scuttle Hole are the chauffeur's alternative.
Pickup Spots
The windmill on the green, the Parrish Art Museum on Montauk Highway, Flying Point Beach, the farm stand on the highway, and any house down a lane. There is no active train station in Water Mill; Southampton station is about 10 minutes, Bridgehampton about 10.

From Water Mill, East Hampton Airport (HTO) in Wainscott is 15 to 20 minutes and Gabreski (FOK) in Westhampton is 30 to 40. HTO is the usual choice; FOK takes larger aircraft and has no curfew issues, so flight departments sometimes prefer it.

Does Water Mill have a train station?
Not an active one; the old Water Mill stop closed. We meet trains at Southampton or Bridgehampton, each about ten minutes away on the LIRR Montauk Branch, and bring you to the house. We track the train, so a delay does not change the plan.
How long is Water Mill to JFK?
About two and a quarter to two and three quarter hours outside of traffic. West on Montauk Highway to County Road 39 and Sunrise Highway, then the Long Island Expressway or Southern State to the Van Wyck. For a morning flight we collect before 5 a.m. to stay ahead of the trade parade.
