JFK Car Service: How the Pickup Works
For arrivals, give us the flight number and the terminal if you know it. We track the flight from takeoff and time the chauffeur to the real landing, then add the walk to baggage claim and, for international flights, the line at passport control. The chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, holding a sign with the name you give us, and walks you to the car in the short-term lot. If you prefer the arrivals curb, say so when you book and we will text you the car and the lane when you clear the doors.

Before You Fly Through JFK
Count Back From the Gate, Not the Airport
At JFK, the curb to the gate can take an hour at peak. For a transatlantic flight we suggest arriving three hours before departure and plan the pickup from there.
Fridays Eastbound, Sundays Westbound
In summer the Long Island Expressway and Route 27 fill in predictable directions. A Sunday afternoon drive to JFK from the Hamptons deserves an extra hour.

JFK is the airport most of our Hamptons clients fly through, and it is also the one that punishes a loose plan. Five terminals, long walks from gate to curb, and a Van Wyck Expressway that can add an hour without notice. A car service to JFK from Southampton or East Hampton works when the pickup time is set from the flight, not from a guess. That is how we run every JFK transfer.
Your chauffeur drives a new, meticulously maintained luxury SUV, wears a suit, and handles the luggage from the carousel to the trunk. For departures we collect you at the door, load the bags, and drop you at the curb of your terminal with time to spare. For arrivals we follow the flight number, so a delay out of London or Los Angeles changes nothing on your end.
Service runs 24 hours. The 5:40 a.m. flight to Europe and the red-eye that lands at 2 a.m. are both ordinary bookings for us. You receive a written price in advance to approve, or to forward to the assistant or travel agent who is arranging the trip.
For departures, we agree on a pickup time with the drive, the day of the week and your check-in in mind, and we confirm it in writing. The chauffeur arrives a few minutes early, loads the luggage and drops you at the departures curb of your terminal. JFK's terminals are spread around a loop road, so the terminal number matters; airlines occasionally move between them, and we check before every ride.

How early should I leave the Hamptons for a JFK departure?
For an international flight, plan to be at the terminal three hours before departure; for domestic, two. Add the drive, which is 2 to 2½ hours from Southampton outside of traffic and more on summer weekends, and you have the pickup time. We suggest one when you book and put it in writing. If you would rather sleep, a 3 a.m. pickup is routine for us.
What happens if my international flight into JFK is delayed?
Nothing on your side. We follow the flight number, so a late departure from Paris or Dubai moves the chauffeur's arrival with it. We also build in time for passport control and baggage claim, which at JFK can run well past an hour for a full widebody. The chauffeur meets you at baggage claim when you come through, however long that takes.
Where exactly will the chauffeur meet me at JFK?
Inside, at baggage claim for your flight, holding a sign. From there you walk together to the car in short-term parking, a few minutes away. If you have only carry-on luggage and want the fastest exit, ask for a curbside pickup and we will text you the car's position in the arrivals lane as you walk out.
How much luggage fits in the SUV?
A luxury SUV comfortably carries a family of four with a large case each plus carry-ons, or two or three passengers with more. For a group of five or more with full luggage, or for oversized items, tell us at booking so we can plan the right vehicle or a second car rather than discover the problem at the curb. For larger groups we arrange a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a shuttle or a coach.
Can you provide a car seat for the ride from JFK?
Yes. We provide and install child safety seats on request; tell us the child's age and weight when you book. Parents confirm the seat is properly installed before the car leaves JFK.
