Amagansett Car Service to the Airports and the City
Amagansett is the hamlet east of East Hampton Village in the Town of East Hampton, the last one before the Napeague strip and Montauk. Main Street is Montauk Highway, with the square, the farmers market and the music venue on it; Indian Wells and Atlantic Avenue beaches lie at the end of straight roads south; Devon and the bay side lie north; the LIRR station is a block off Main Street. Beyond the hamlet the road narrows through the dunes toward Montauk.
Main Street and the Beach Roads
Montauk Highway is Main Street through the hamlet. Indian Wells Highway and Atlantic Avenue run south to the ocean; Bluff Road links the beach neighborhoods. On August afternoons the beach roads and the square move slowly; we plan around them.
Pickup Spots
The Amagansett LIRR station on Montauk Highway at the east end of the hamlet, the square, the farmers market, Indian Wells and Atlantic Avenue beach lots, and the houses of Beach Hampton and Devon. For the beach we wait at the lot entrance.
Napeague
East of Amagansett, Route 27 crosses the Napeague stretch to Montauk with no alternative route. Anything from Montauk passes through here, so Friday evenings fill eastbound and Sunday afternoons westbound. We leave margin for flights.
Airports From Amagansett
HTO in Wainscott 15 to 20 minutes west for jets; MTP 25 to 30 minutes east for light aircraft in season; ISP in Islip about an hour and three quarters; JFK and LGA about three hours outside of traffic. For a 7 a.m. JFK departure we collect around 3 a.m.

Yes. The station is on Montauk Highway at the eastern edge of the hamlet, on the LIRR Montauk Branch, one stop before Montauk. We meet the train at the curb, track the arrival time, and load the luggage. For busy summer trains we agree a meeting point in advance.
How long is Amagansett to JFK?
About two and three quarters to three and a quarter hours outside of traffic, through East Hampton Village and west on Route 27 to County Road 39 and the expressways. For an early flight we collect around 3 a.m.; for a summer Sunday afternoon flight we add an hour.
Which airport is best for a private flight to Amagansett?
East Hampton Airport (HTO) in Wainscott, 15 to 20 minutes west, takes jets and is the usual choice. Montauk Airport (MTP), 25 to 30 minutes east, is a small seasonal field for light aircraft and helicopters. We meet either and advise which suits the aircraft.
Do you do evening pickups in Amagansett?
