Southampton Car Service to the Airports and the City

Southampton is the oldest of the Hamptons villages and the first one most drivers reach once Sunrise Highway gives way to County Road 39. Main Street and Jobs Lane hold the shops and galleries; the estate section runs south of Hill Street toward Gin Lane and Meadow Lane; Coopers Beach is the village ocean beach. Hospital, train station, golf courses and the Shinnecock Hills to the west sit within a few minutes of one another, which makes Southampton a natural base for the whole South Fork.

County Road 39 Is the Funnel
Everything entering or leaving the South Fork by road passes the Shinnecock Canal and County Road 39. On summer weekday mornings the eastbound trade parade of contractors starts before 7; late afternoon reverses it. We pad pickup times for those windows.

Friday East, Sunday West
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Friday afternoons run heavy eastbound and Sunday afternoons heavy westbound. For a Sunday evening flight from JFK we recommend leaving Southampton earlier than the base two to two and a half hours suggests.
Two Private Airports, Two Directions
FOK is west along Sunrise Highway; HTO is east along Montauk Highway. From the village they are similar in minutes; from Water Mill or further east HTO wins, from Shinnecock Hills or North Sea FOK usually does.

How early should we leave Southampton for a morning flight from JFK?

Outside of traffic the drive is about two to two and a half hours. For a 7 a.m. departure we usually collect between 3 and 3:30 a.m., which clears the Long Island Expressway before it builds and leaves time at the terminal. On a summer Sunday afternoon add an hour. We confirm the pickup time in writing with the quote.

Can you pick up at the Southampton train station?

Yes. The Southampton LIRR station is on the Montauk Branch, and we meet arriving trains at the curb on Railroad Plaza with the name card if you wish. Tell us the train number and we track it, so a late arrival does not cost you a chauffeur.

Is FOK or HTO closer to Southampton Village?

They are close to even from the village itself, about 25 to 35 minutes each outside of traffic. West of the village, in Shinnecock Hills or North Sea, Gabreski (FOK) is quicker. East of the village, toward Water Mill, East Hampton Airport (HTO) in Wainscott is quicker. We will tell you which we recommend for your address.

Do you offer hourly car service within Southampton for the day?
